The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce updated its website, www.hotspringschamber.com, recently to better serve its members as well as the community. The website aims to connect businesses to the people of Hot Springs. One new feature that creates this bridge is the Job Bank. On the Job Bank page, members can post job openings they have at their business to find quality applicants. Those seeking jobs can also post resumes, showcase their skills and connect with those offering good paying jobs. Job seekers can also peruse the posted job openings to find the best employment option for them. Anyone can post a resume or view the posted jobs, however only Chamber members can post open positions and search through posted resumes. Those interested in joining the Chamber can call Kevin “KT” Thompson, Business Development Director, at 501-282-9872 or email him at kevin.thompson@growinghotsprings.com. Another benefit for members on the Chamber’s website is the Community News page. On this page, the Chamber posts news releases from member businesses. Utilizing the Community News page is a great way to get the word out on happenings in local businesses. It also is a great way to increase the SEO (search engine optimization) for the businesses’ websites. According to Moz.com, a SEO expert company, linking from one site to another is “especially valuable for SEO because they represent a ‘vote of confidence’ from one site to another.” It shows search engines that the website is worth linking to and therefore worth surfacing on searches. The Community News page is also only available to Chamber members. Businesses wishing to submit press releases for online publication can contact Mara Kuhn, Communications Manager, at mara.kuhn@growinghotsprings.com. Another advantage on the Chamber’s website for its members is the Community Events page. Member businesses can submit events via the website on the Submit an Event page, under the Events & News tab on the menu, or by emailing Misti Ramos, Customer Service Director, at info@growinghotsprings.com. Once an event is submitted, it will be listed on the Community Calendar on the Chamber’s website for visitors to see. The Chamber encourages all its members to take full advantage of the benefits it offers. For more information, contact Kuhn at the above listed email or call the Chamber at 501-321-1700.
